“Berg’s Lyrische Suite is a must for quartets willing to prove themselves. Toccata Classics, for which we have already recorded an album with music by Ernst Krenek, is interested in the first recordings various works. During a meeting with the director of the label, I mentioned that the transcription of the Lyrische Suite had been completed by Theo Verbey, and there was a beautiful string version of the Piano Sonata op. 1 also prepared recently. We got the green light, and this may be one of Leopoldinum’s most important projects.”
Ernst Kovacic
In addition to the above-mentioned works, the orchestra recorded the Canon composed by Alfred Schnittke and selected miniatures arranged for strings by Ernst Kovacic.
