An excellent album – the first recording resulting from the collaboration between the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra and the Atom String Quartet. The main inspiration for creating the recording was Polish folk music and its influence on various styles, such as Classical and jazz.

The main inspiration for creating the album was Polish folk music and its influence on various styles, such as Classical and jazz. The author of the idea and choice of the compositions is Christian Danowicz, concertmaster of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra. Atom String Quartet, an improvising group who are friends with Leopoldinum, was invited to record together.
The programme included on the album referenced the folklore of Podhale – the disc includes compositions by Karol Szymanowski, Grażyna Bacewicz, Mikołaj Górecki and arrangements by the quartet’s musicians – Dawid Lubowicz and Krzysztof Lenczowski.
The album is part of the publishing project produced under the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016 programme. It was published thanks to funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
