Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki II
The second album by Andrzej Kosendiak and the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble with works by an outstanding early Polish composer of the late Baroque period – Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki. His two a cappella mass cycles are featured: Missa Rorate II and Missa Paschalis, alongside four motet-style hymns, the church concerto In virtute Tua and two large vocal-instrumental works: Conductus funebris and Litaniae de Providentia Divina. Together with the pieces recorded two years ago by the same performers (Missa Rorate I, Illuxit sol, Laetatus sum, Completorium), it provides an overview of the composer’s best works, representing various forms and styles. The album was released as part of the Music First series.
