We present to you another album of Polish early music, which is unique because it was recorded and released at a time when we were celebrating the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence.
At this important moment, we evaluate and summarise. Taking into account the last three hundred years and comparing ourselves with other European countries, we notice how many cultural treasures we have lost. Seeing this, we try to remember the past and show great respect and protect our cultural heritage. We take care of architectural monuments by restoring their splendor or striving to reconstruct what it is possible to recreate. Unfortunately, lost music cannot be restored...
This CD contains the ten pieces by Stanisław Sylwester Szarzyński that comprise all of the composer’s surviving works. Their unique beauty coupled with the highest artistic level of their presentation best reflect their creator, who, based on the compositions known to us, can be placed among the greatest musical personalities in the world at that time. Despite the small number of preserved works, Szarzyński will always remain the pride of Poland, and it is our duty to remember his music, protect it, value it, and promote it as widely as possible.
