The achievements of Moritz Moszkowski deserve to be kept alive, both in concert and on recordings. Young performers are increasingly reaching for these compositions, proving that the audience of Moszkowski’s times was not wrong in enthusiastically welcoming his works. The Musical Courier rhetorically asked: “who would not be impressed by the charm of these melodies?”. It is worth repeating this question 95 years after the composer’s death, marked by the Sinfonietta’s monographic album West Side.
